FAQ URLs and Return URLs
FAQ URLs and Return URLs are settings related to user guidance and experience within policies. FAQ URLs can direct users to frequently asked questions for assistance, while Return URLs specify where users should be redirected after completing certain actions, such as verifying with a document or completing a supervised session with a Trusted Referee. These configurations help improve user support and navigation within the application.
FAQ URLs
ID.me allows developers to add their own Help URLs to the application. These links enable an additional help link that can be found at the bottom of the screen during ID.me authentication and verification, which opens a new window upon clicking the link.
Return URLs
ID.me allows developers to configure Return URLs within their application and policy. These links enable an action button and are included in the email when users complete verification.
You can enable a Return URL on the application, which populates a global link for all verifications.
You can also enable Return URLs to be configured on a per policy basis, which allows you to send links specific to a policy and provide a more personalized user experience upon returning to your application.
Best Practices
Configuring a Return URL is key to a sound user experience. This allows users who may have elected to exit the ID.me verification process, either after submitting a document or completing a session with ID.me Trusted Referees, to return to your application to consent the release of their data and generate a successful transaction.
Without the Return URL, users may be notified that they have successfully verified, however, they may not have consented to the release of their data. Therefore, you would not have received the users attributes or status from ID.me’s API.
