ID.me Social Login simplifies the user authentication process for your organization by allowing you to authenticate users, reducing the friction between your customers and their accounts. Using industry standard federated protocols, such as OAuth, OpenID Connect and SAML, ID.me can be seamlessly integrated and serve as a trusted entry point for your users to access their accounts, utilizing our recognized and branded single sign-on service.

When to use this policy

Ideal for integrations with existing social login options (e.g. Facebook, Google, Apple, etc) or as the sole social login option.

Who is eligible?

Anyone with an ID.me account.

Authentication flows

Here you can find what the ID.me Social Login user experience looks like today:

Input email and password. Users are encouraged to leverage their personal email to create their ID.me account, and have the option to add their corporate email. ID.me follows NIST guidance on user-created passwords which requires at least eight alpha-numeric characters. Passwords should include lowercase letters, uppercase letters and a number.

Accept ID.me terms of service and privacy policy. Users must accept ID.me terms of service and privacy policies which outline the rules and protections for users and their data.

Existing Account

To authenticate an existing account, enter your email and password, click sign in, then consent to the release of your data to an ID.me customer.
